If you were like me when you first came across Plans 4 Boats, after reading through their big sales pitch you wanted to know if they actually deliver on the content they promise. Nobody wants to spend money on something that ends up being useless. So, since I have purchased and used Plans 4 Boats, I’m gonna let you in one exactly what comes with their boat-building guide; consider this Part 1 of my Plans 4 boats review.
If you would rather go directly to the Plans 4 Boats website, click here.
The first thing you need to know is that everything that is listed on the Plans 4 Boats website really does come with the product, they’re not exaggerating. All the different boat plans, from dinghys to yachts, are available to download and use. Along with the boat plans, you do get some pretty cool boat-designing software, and boat-building tips. I have over 30 ebooks on my computer that are part of the Plans 4 Boats guide and there still other boat plans available that I haven’t had a chance to look at yet.
The next thing you need to know about the Plans4boats guide is that it is not simply 1 document. It is a large collection of different ebooks (documents that can be read on your computer or printed out) that you download separately. I like this feature because it gives you the option of picking and choosing what you want to download and use. If you want to learn how to build a canoe, download the ebook on canoes; if you want to build a sailboat, download the sailboat ebook; if you want to design your own boat, download and use the boat-designing software (a great step-by-step tutorial accompanies the boat-designing software, I found it very helpful).
Another important fact to know is that you do have the option of receiving a set of compact discs containing all the plans. These are mailed to you and you do have to pay around $5 extra to cover the shipping. This is a nice alternative to downloading all the plans, because they are large files and take some time to download, depending on your Internet connection.
The last thing to know about this boat-building guide is that it does come with a money-back guarantee. Everyone should know this before they purchase so they have the peace of mind that if they end up not using the guide, they can always get their money back. I always appreciate a product that comes with a guarantee, and it was nice to know Plans4Boats came with one.
